Yesterday we had fun creating apple prints. It’s a simple fall art / craft activity even a 2-year-old toddlers can create without any trouble.
Instructions are simple: After you cut apples in half, you can either give them some paint to soak apples in and make prints on paper, or give them brushes and ask them to paint halves with brushes before making prints on paper.
HOW TO MAKE Apple stick puppets craft
I have separated couple prints my girl made, those which turned out really good and had a full, clean print, to turn them into stick puppets.
It is really simple to create stick puppets from apple prints:
- cut out apple prints from paper
- glue them on cardboard and trim around prints
- take barbecue sticks and slide inside the cardboard (or glue on the back)
- add some googly eyes and draw facial expressions
- PLAY!
CLOSE UP APPLE STICK PUPPETS AND A STORY about feelings
A little story I told her while playing with apples, included a discussion about feelings:
Green apple feels a little bitter…. it’s autumn already and no sun to grow up and become yummy!
Red apple is happy…. everyone loves juicy red apples!
Yellow apple is sad… and crying…. it fell off the tree and bumped head!
Brown apple is mad…. it’s rotten and nobody wants him now!
