Blue and White Framed Snowman Scene Card

It is day 4 of our Blank Christmas Cards Advent Countdown with Kids! Did you join us? Today we have created a Christmas card with cute little cotton pad snowman on collage background!

If you followed us for last couple days, you might noticed that we try to keep it simple, low cost, and varied. Using many different materials, textures and colors helps keep kids engaged. Plus, making these cards is great for fine motor and sensory skills.

We used several simple supplies to create today’s card:

• colored cardstock for a card
• colored and white copy paper (2 shades of blue)
• hole puncher (for confetti)
• cotton pads
• scraps of felt (brown and orange)
• tape with lacy design

Use piece of cardstock smaller than front of the folded card and apply glue over until completely covered. Add white, light blue and dark blue paper, tear it to get rough edges and use it as background collage. Use 3 cotton pads for snowman, cut 2 to create smaller circles, this is something adults should prepare in advance because it’s really hard to cut through pad and get circles. Apply glue on each piece and glue in shape of a snowman.

Cut extra paper around the cardstock. As you can see, my daughter did it herself. It’s great scissor practice and it really doesn’t matter if it’s not totally straight. Cut pieces of brown felt for buttons, eyes and hands and small piece of orange felt for nose. Mom did cutting, girl did gluing. She insisted to add some snow too and she used white confetti and glued them around snowman. For finish, we didn’t glue this on cardstock, instead we used this lacy tape to secure our little snowman scene on card and frame it as a little master piece!
