Since I have a toddler, I decided to use a plastic bottle in the simplest way possible. This is also one of my toddler’s favorite activities – posting pom poms into a plastic bottle. There is another thing my toddler loves about this activity, but we’ll explain it later in this post. What simple fine motor play activities your toddler loves?

We are 6 days in a junk play challenge and today’s prompt to play was to use plastic bottle found in a recycle bin.
Supplies for fine motor play with pom poms
For today’s play, only 2 things were needed:
- pom poms
- clean plastic bottle.
We picked a pack of pom poms from a store. As for plastic bottle, we simply use the one we had in our recycle bin.
Fine motor play with pom poms
My daughter loves placing pom poms through the hole and it’s one of those activities she comes back to over and over. It’s awesome for fine motor practice, easy to set up. And easy to clean up afterwards. Especially since she loves to gather them and put them in the bottle.

Another thing my toddler adores is to get mom to shake the bottle until all the pom poms are out of the bottle. Pom poms jump around as they drop out of the bottle and we get lots of giggles and screaming as my daughter tries to collect them all. If you haven’t done this with your toddlers, give it a try! Toddlers love this!
Today’s post is part of 60 Day Junk Play Challenge and we had as material prompt today PLASTIC BOTTLE.
