We are half way through Blank Christmas Cards Advent Countdown with Kids! For card no.12 we have decided to make a card a keepsake! So, Stars and Hearts Christmas Card is really having my 6 year’s daughter’s first sewing project on front!
I think this is very cool way to preserve some of early memories made by our kids. If you just came in, check the cards we have done so far and get inspired to make your own 12 day countdown to Christmas with kids made Christmas cards! |

Things we used to make these Christmas cards are following:
- colored cardstock for a card
- foam sheets
- kid safe needle
- thread, scissors
- pop dots
- different cookie cutters, we used heart and star
My daughter first traced a cookie cutter on foam sheet using pencil. Than I used needle to make holes around the drawn shape. She then sew around, after I have shown her how to start. When it was all done, she cut around the shapes and we used pop dots to mount it on the card. Easy as that! And awesome way to save her first sewing project!
