It’s fun crafting and playing with kids while we create Christmas cards for our Blank Christmas Cards Advent Countdown with Kids.Today we have combined painting, bit of science and collage to create these Washy Tape Christmas Tree Cards.
Have to say that toddler’s favorite part was playing with salt while we painted background for our Christmas tree. It was quiet difficult to take her apart from this activity! Hope you will enjoy with your kids as much as I did with mine! |
Things you will need to make these cards:
- cardstock for a card
- watercolor paper for background
- piece of cardstock for a tree template
- washy tape with Christmas designs.
We started with painting a background – simply let kids play around with blue watercolor, brush and salt. Important thing is to sprinkle salt while watercolors are still wet on paper. Otherwise they will not melt and leave mark on paper. But it’s really fun and my kids loved to do this!
Once you’re satisfied with how it looks, put it aside to dry. Give kids piece of cardstock cut in triangle shape and let them wrap it up with washy tape. Glue this tree on blue “winter sky” background and add a little star on a top. Easy as that!
