It’s already day 10 of Blank Christmas Cards Advent Countdown with Kids, and for today kids have been playing with watercolors!Girls made these easy watercolor resist Christmas lights card and had lots of fun playing around with color mixing and deciding which colors to use.
Of course, since they are girls, color choices were mostly red, pink and purple! But it works with which ever color your child picks! Let them decide which one they will use! |

Supplies we used to make Watercolor Resist Christmas Lights Cards:
- watercolors (any will do!)
- colored cardstock for a card
- watercolor paper
- white crayon
- black sakura pen 0.8
- glue
| Start by making several oval shapes with white crayons all over the paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect as it’s really hard to draw with white on white! Get the watercolors out and let children paint all over the paper as they wish. Let them mix the color, or pick their favorite. All is fine as long as they cover complete surface of the paper. Let the paper dry and when it’s completely dry, show kids how to trace inside white marks left by crayons. Use pen to make cord and connect all the “light baulbs”. This is excellent writing practice for preschoolers! For end cut out painting to a size of card and glue it on. And you’re done! |
