Tin Foil Bangles

My daughters love to dress up, both toddler and older. For today’s play, we created shiny tin foil bangles using things either from our recycle bin or things we had on hand.

In case you want to recreate these, keep in mind that you can reuse aluminium foil – simply wash it and put aside for another use! Or for #junkplay, like we did!

Tin Foil Bangles - easy to make, fun for pretend play, dress-up and costume play with kids

To create tin foil bangles for pretend play, we used some very basic supplies from our recycle bin (aluminium foil, ribbon scraps and toilet paper rolls), along with some decorative tape. And we needed scissors and hole puncher.

First we cut paper rolls in half and then cut them open and made holes on each side using hole puncher. Then we used aluminium foil to cover the bangles. We attached it with tape since it’s only for our pretend play, but you can use glue if you wish to make it more durable. It’s very easy to either tear or cut foil using scissors. And we can always wash and reuse previously used foil.

Next we played with some patterned and lace tapes to decorate over aluminium foil. Let the kids decorate in whichever way they want. Working with tapes is great for fine motor skill practice. To finish up bangles, we tied ribbons to each end of the bangles and made a little bow.Now our new shiny tin foil bangles are ready to be used as a part of kid’s pretend play! My daughters love to dress up as princesses and these are perfect for their costumes!
